An ergonomically correct work environment is very important but it is not the only step. Adjusting your workstation may provide immediate relief but in order to fix it for life and achieve long-term results you must strengthen your body.
If your body is not strong and stable enough to maintain proper alignment, you will slip right back into your old ways no matter how ergonomically correct your workstation is.
Just 10 Minutes
Let's be honest, some people love to exercise, some people hate it. No matter how you feel about it, anyone can manage ten minutes. The bottom line is this: exercise will make you feel better both physically and emotionally. Life is too short to go around looking bad and feeling pain if you don't have to. A committed, comprehensive approach will allow you to take control of your body, return to proper posture and alignment, relieve your pain, and elevate your mood and productivity.
You Are an Athlete! Seriously.
No matter how sedentary your job may be, think of yourself as a professional athlete. A pro tennis player trains their body to move fast in many directions, swing a racket hard and efficiently, and maintain their stamina. That's their job. If your job means that you have to sit at a desk for hours on end, focus your attention, and maintain proper posture, then you have to train your body to do that as well.
“Learning how to exercise to fix it, is what made it for me.”
